KEEPING SAN ANTONIO IN STITCHES SINCE 1971

  The Yarn Barn opened its doors to needleworkers in 1971 in San Antonio, Texas and those doors have been open continously for over forty years. Our goal is creating a place filled with color, texture and inspiration. We carry knitting and crochet products from companies like Barn Owl Yarns, Lone Star Arts, Yarn Carnival, Feza, Debbie Bliss, Jaggerspun, Araucania, Cascade and Plymouth. For our needlepointers our walls are graced with hand painted canvases from a wide array of artists and vendors. Some of our artists include Painted Pony, Needledeeva, Rebecca Wood, Pat and Lee Designs and Strictly Christmas. Our fibers range from strandable wool to fine silks to fit your every need.

Mission

We provide an inviting and stimulating store experience where the novice and experienced knitter, needle pointer, and crocheter alike come to learn and shop together. The mission is to deliver needle arts products and classes that astound the senses and stimulate creativity. We will do this while supporting responsible and sustainable development in Texas, the region, the United Sates, and in the under-developed world through cooperatives and private enterprise, in fibers, needle point canvasses and accessories. We will deliver superior products and service to the fiber arts community and build on an enduring brand. We will fulfill this mission by focusing extra effort on the customers’ positive experience in the store and to excellent supplier relationships.
