About The Yarn Barn of San Antonio

Since 1971, The Yarn Barn has been a haven for needleworkers in San Antonio, Texas. For over 40 years, our doors remained open, welcoming fiber enthusiasts to a space filled with color, texture, and inspiration.

In 2012, Enid and their better half took the reins, continuing the tradition of providing high-quality yarns, fibers, and needlework supplies. In December 2019, we closed our brick-and-mortar location, but The Yarn Barn is still here, now fully online, bringing the same passion and curated selection to our customers.

We proudly offer a variety of knitting and crochet products from beloved brands such as Barn Owl Yarns, Lone Star Arts, Yarn Carnival, Feza, Debbie Bliss, Jaggerspun, Araucania, Cascade, and Plymouth. Our needlepointers will find a stunning collection of hand-painted canvases from talented artists and vendors, including Painted Pony, Needledeeva, Rebecca Wood, Pat and Lee Designs, and Strictly Christmas. Our fibers range from strandable wool to luxurious silks, ensuring you have the perfect materials for every project.

Beyond The Yarn Barn, Enid is now sharing their expertise by teaching classes at Good Energy Ranch, helping others explore the joy of fiber arts.

Whether you're a seasoned stitcher or just starting your journey, The Yarn Barn is here to inspire and support your creativity—now and always.

Our Mission

At The Yarn Barn, we believe fiber arts bring people together. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned expert, our goal is to provide a welcoming and inspiring space—both online and in our community—where creativity thrives.

We are dedicated to offering exceptional needle arts products and classes that spark joy and imagination. Our commitment extends beyond our customers to supporting responsible and sustainable development in Texas, across the U.S., and around the world. Through partnerships with cooperatives and independent artisans, we strive to source high-quality fibers, hand-painted needlepoint canvases, and accessories that make a difference.

Above all, we are here to serve and uplift the fiber arts community by delivering superior products, expert guidance, and a sense of connection. Even though our brick-and-mortar store has closed, our passion remains the same—providing an inspiring, inclusive, and supportive experience for every maker.
